The Legal Aid Society  Sponsors Constituent Services Training  

The Legal Aid Society's Civil Practice will provide constituent services training for members of the New York City Council and New York City members of the New York State Senate and Assembly, and the U.S. House of Representatives,  and  members of the U.S. Senate and their staffs during the next few months. The first training session will be held in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn Constituent Services Staff Day Scheduled for July 23

The  Brooklyn Constituent Services Staff  Day will be held  on Thursday, July 23, 2009, from 9 a.m. to noon at The Legal Aid Society's Brooklyn offices at 111 Livingston Street, 8th floor.  This training will highlight the work of the Civil Practice's Brooklyn Neighborhood Office and the Brooklyn Office for the Aging. 

Adriene Holder, Attorney-in-Charge of the Civil Practice,  and members of her staff will welcome the group and provide an introduction to the work of the two offices.  From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., there will be training on the major issues facing Brooklyn's low income individuals and families such as housing, benefits, immigration, employment and family law.  An overview of intake procedures and client rights as well as a guided discussion on next steps, future collaboration and the goals for each office will be held from 11 a.m. to noon.  A light breakfast will be served.
