We Are Steadfast In Our Fight For Justice: In Court, In Communities, Throughout The City and Across the Nation

From Wednesday to Saturday of last week, members of our practice joined a national convening of public defenders and civil legal services attorneys in Indiana for the National Legal Aid and Defender Association Annual Conference. The conference is a nationally recognized gathering of thousands of practitioners and client advocates from large cities to rural counties. Panel topics are selected from hundreds of proposals all looking to share ideas on best practices.

Proudly, CDP had several panels accepted that allowed us to highlight the incredible work that we do every day. Specifically, Josh Norkin, Anthony Posada, Nefertiti Ankra, Cynthia Conti Cook, Julie Ciccolini and Kate Mogulescu conducted panels on the work of the Decarceration Project, Community Justice Unit, Cop Accountability Project and EIP. Bill Gibney provided a comprehensive review of our litigation and policy advocacy work during the Defender Caucus and I joined Equal Justice Works, Stanford University and One Justice, Inc to share the steps we have taken as a result of partnering with ALAA, ACLA, the LGBT Caucus and 1199 to increase diversity of our hiring and intern programs.
