The Legal Aid Society Pays Tribute to Orlando Victims During LGBTQ Reception

The Legal Aid Society held a special reception for LGBTQ Pride Month in the Queens office on Tuesday. During the reception, special tribute was made to the Orlando victims.

The names of the Orlando victims were read during a candle light ceremony by (from left) Kimberly Forte, Supervising Attorney of the LGBT Law and Policy Initiative; Tamara Steckler, Attorney-in-Charge of the Juvenile Rights Practice; Adriene Holder, Attorney-in-Charge of the Civil Practice; Seymour W. James, Attorney-in-Chief of The Legal Aid Society; and Tina Luongo, Attorney-in-Charge of the Criminal Practice.

During the reception, three Staff Attorneys presented inspirational speeches to the group. They are pictured here with Seymour James. From left: Aviva Michelman-Dumas, Queens CDP; Katherine Redmon, Queens Neighborhood Office; and Andrew Ford, Queens JRP.
