The Legal Aid Society Family Gathered to Celebrate Pride Month
FRIDAY, JUNE 30, 2017
Kim Forte, a Supervising Attorney for Legal Aid’s LGBTQ+ Law and Policy Initiative, introduced Richard Saenz, right, a Staff Attorney and the Criminal Justice and Police Misconduct program strategist at Lambda Legal and Thomas Krever, the CEO of the Hetrick-Martin Institute, as the speakers for the evening.

The Legal Aid Society staff came together last night during a special reception to wrap up Pride Month celebrations. The gathering included moving speeches from the Society’s Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Femi Disu-Oakley, and two guest speakers.

“Each year, the Society’s Pride events are a recognition of staff, clients and community,” said Disu-Oakley.

Guest speakers included Richard Saenz, a Staff Attorney and the Criminal Justice and Police Misconduct program strategist at Lambda Legal, a national legal organization committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of LGBTQ+ people and those with HIV, and Thomas Krever, CEO of the Hetrick-Martin Institute, an organization dedicated to serving at-risk LGBTQ+ youth who are typically under-served by schools, communities and often families.
