The Legal Aid Society Commemorates Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On this national day of remembrance, The Legal Aid Society commemorates the life, teachings, and vision of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His leadership and advocacy for racial equality and justice is an inspiration to our organization and the work that we do. Black communities continue to experience systemic oppression and racism through every facet of our legal system.

Now more than ever, his work guides us as we fight for justice and the rights of those who are poor, marginalized and vulnerable. Let Dr. King’s legacy remind us of our mandate to dismantle discrimination, fight poverty, empower communities and ensure universal opportunity. Today brings hope and encouragement for all of us to become leaders for change until we have made Dr. King’s dreams a reality.
