Statement from The Legal Aid Society Responding to CBO Impact Analysis of ACA Repeal
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15, 2017

The Legal Aid Society released the following statement tonight responding to the Congressional Budget Office’s announcement that 24 million Americans would lose health insurance if Washington repealed the Affordable Care Act.

“The Affordable Care Act (ACA) built a bridge for millions of Americans – including many of our clients – to access lifesaving, high quality, low cost health insurance. The proposals being floated by Congressional Republicans would put these same Americans back in the precarious position of having to choose between healthcare, housing, groceries, or other vital needs. We’re hopeful the Congressional Budget Office’s analysis will spotlight how destructive ACA repeal would be to families across the country and staves this fundamental lifeline for millions from the chopping block.”
