Stanley Melnick, a staff attorney in the Queens Office of the Juvenile Rights Practice, will receive the 12th annual Charles Schinitsky Award for Outstanding Service on Behalf of Children on Friday at a luncheon at the JRP training session at Sidley Austin LLP. Stan began his career as a staff attorney at JRP more than 30 years ago and is described as "the heart and soul of the Queens office." It was the consensus of the JRP Schinitsky Award Committee that Stan embodies the dedication and commitment to our clients and to JRP that this award is intended to recognize.
The award is named after Charles Schinitsky who was the founder and first Attorney-in-Charge of the Juvenile Rights Division. Stan was actually hired by Charles Schinitsky himself which makes his receipt of this award all the more fitting. Congratulations to Stan.
