Seymour James to Speak at Equal Before The Law Conference at NY Law School

New York Law School is sponsoring a day-long conference entitled, “Equal Before the Law: Civil Rights and Access to Justice” on April 8. Former Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman will be the keynote speaker. He will be introduced by Chief Judge Janet DiFiore.

Other speakers and moderators include: Hon. Sheila Abdus-Salaam, NYS Court of Appeals; Deborah Archer, NYLS; Lenni Benson, NYLS; Raymond Brescia, Albany Law School; Carol Buckler, NYLS; Hon. Fern Fisher, NYS Courts Access to Justice Program, NYC Courts; Seymour James, Attorney-in-Chief of The Legal Aid Society; Maria Mottola, New York Foundation; Lillian Moy, Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York; Dennis Parker, ACLU; Alexander Reinert, Cardozo Law School; Andrew Scherer, NYLS; Elizabeth Schneider, Brooklyn Law School; and David Udell, National Center for Access to Justice, Cardozo Law School.

The symposium is free of charge. 6.0 CLE credits will be available (transitional and non-transitional), including 4.0 credits in Ethics and Professional, and 2.0 credits in Areas of Professional Practice. Coffee, lunch and a light reception will be provided.
