NYC Go Purple Day
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2014

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Legal Aid attorneys Christine Appah, Johan Byssainthe, Laura Russell, and Sateesh Nori, along with Councilmember Rory Lanceman, met over 350 people at a subway station in Jamaica, Queens on Wednesday morning to spread awareness around NYC Go Purple Day. The event, organized by the NYC City Council's Women's Issues Committee, Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito and the Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence, was part of a series of similar events held throughout the City.
