Legal Aid Staff Assists With Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Efforts

Staff of The Legal Aid Society will be assisting public housing residents today with FEMA applications and other legal needs at Red Hook Initiative, which is a community based organization, at 767 Hicks Street, Brooklyn, close to the public housing developments in Red Hook which were devastated by Hurricane Sandy. On Saturday, November 3, Legal Aid Society staff will be assisting public housing residents with FEMA applications and other legal needs in Coney Island, at 28th and Mermaid. There are six public housing developments in Red Hook which were devastated by Hurricane Sandy. The Legal Aid Society is coordinating this effort with the offices of Congressman Jerrold Nadler, Assemblymember Hakeem Jeffries, and Councilmember Domenic Recchia.
