MONDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2016

Mayor de Blasio’s announced commitment today to provide more funding for immigrants who face deportation under the Trump Administration was met with praise by Seymour W. James, the Attorney-in-Chief of The Legal Aid Society. James praised the Mayor for his efforts “to keep immigrant families together.”

“The Legal Aid Society applauds Mayor de Blasio’s commitment to expanding funding of legal representation for those New Yorkers facing deportation. This is a crucial step in the right direction, and we remain committed to working with both the City Council and the Mayor to ensure that immigrant families are not torn apart by the proposed draconian federal policies.”
