Legal Aid Chief: Elimination of Homeless Prevention Program Destroys Safety Net for Low Income Families

Steven Banks, Attorney-in-Chief of The Legal Aid Society, told City Limits that the proposed elimination of the Homeless Prevention Program "blows a hole in the social safety net" for low-income families. The Legal Aid Society is prepared to argue that FEPS is indeed a mandated program, the product of a Supreme Court ruling on the state’s obligations to welfare recipients.
