Legal Aid Bronx Staff Helps New Yorkers Receive Another Chance

The Legal Aid Society was well represented at Another Chance, the first summons warrant forgiveness program in the Bronx with managers, supervisors, staff attorneys and administrative and support staff on hand to assist New Yorkers clear their records.

Bronx Criminal Defense partnered with the Bronx District Attorney’s Office and the Office of Court Administration. Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark opened the event to residents from all five boroughs, offering them “Another Chance”.

Peter Jones, the Attorney-in-Charge of the Society's Bronx Criminal Defense Practice, called Another Chance “a great opportunity for people in the community to address really low level offenses in a non-confrontational atmosphere where defenders from the Bronx Legal Aid Society will represent them.” The Community Justice Unit and staff from the Civil and Juvenile Rights Practices were also on hand to offer Know Your Rights assistance to the community.
