This guide helps ensure that tenants have a basic understanding about building access, landlord responsibilities, available public programs and other important legal information..

The public is encouraged to call The Legal Aid Society’s Queens Neighborhood Office at (718) 286-2450 with any additional questions or concerns. Legal Aid attorneys will also be available in-person for assistance today at Queens Center Mall from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm in front of store Envy U.

“It’s paramount that tenants know very well their available rights following a terrible tragedy such as last week’s fire,” said Sateesh Nori, Attorney-In-Charge of the Civil Practice at Legal Aid’s Queens Neighborhood Office. “Too common, landlords and other bad actors exploit a crises, making it even worse for those involved. Any tenant concerned about this guide or any other legal right connected with the fire should call our office immediately.”
