Kim Forte Honored by the City Bar’s LGBT Rights Committee

The New York City Bar Association’s Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights honored Kimberly Forte on June 28 with the Arthur S. Leonard Award for distinguished service on behalf of the LGBT+ community.

Forte is the Supervising Attorney for The Legal Aid Society’s LGBTQ+ Law and Policy Initiative. Her work focuses on all three of the Society’s Practices – Civil, Juvenile Rights and Criminal Defense. She has been with the Society for over 16 years.

The prestigious award will recognized Forte’s commitment to LGBT+ equality and her many achievements. She has served as counsel on the following cases: C.W. v. The City of New York, (EDNY), Cruz v. Zucker (SDNY), D.H. v. The City of New York (SDNY), and Holden v. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (SDNY).
