Homes for All New Yorkers: Legal Aid and Others Recommend Steps That Could End Homelessness

A coalition which includes The Legal Aid Society, VOCAL-NY, and the Coalition for the Homeless issued a report during a rally at City Hall today recommending steps that could end homelessness.

Among the steps are raising the minimum wage, investing in more programs to prevent tenants from becoming homeless, giving more NYCHA housing to homeless families and putting aside 10 percent of all units in the Mayor's affordable housing plan for shelter residents.

Joshua Goldfein, a Staff Attorney in the Homeless Rights Project, at The Legal Aid Society, spoke at the rally.
