Funding for Prisoners’ Rights Project

Special thanks to Council Member Andy King and Council Member Vanessa L. Gibson for their advocacy in obtaining funding for The Legal Aid Society’s Prisoners’ Rights Project.

At a press conference on the steps of City Hall, Council Members King and Gibson announced funding for PRP at Rikers. Attending the press conference were Seymour W. James, Attorney-in-Chief; Tina Luongo, Attorney-in-Charge of the Criminal Practice; Adriene Holder, Attorney-in-Charge of the Civil Practice; and John Boston, Director of PRP; Jonathan Chasan, Supervising Attorney in PRP; and Mary Lynn Werlwas, Staff Attorney.

Werlwas and Chasan are the attorneys on the Nunez case.
