Testimony Before State Legislators
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 09, 2010

The Legal Aid Society submitted testimony before the State Senate Finance Committee and the Assembly Committee on Ways and Means on Health/Medicaid proposals in the Governor's 2010-2011 Executive Budget and on provisions of the budget affecting children involved in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems in New York State and the hundreds of thousands of low-income New Yorkers who are on public assistance and in related safety-net programs.

In her testimony, Lisa Sbrana, Supervising Attorney of the Civil Practice's Health Law Unit, presented concerns over proposals in the Governor's budget that diminish access to health care coverage and services. Tamara Steckler, Attorney-in-Charge of the Juvenile Rights Practice, and Adriene Holder, Attorney-in-Charge of the Civil Practice, submitted testimony on Human Services.
