Brooklyn CDP Helped Hundreds of New Yorkers Clear Outstanding Summons at DA Thompson's Begin Again in Bushwick

Members of The Legal Aid Society's Brooklyn Criminal staff were on hand Saturday to help hundreds of New Yorkers resolve outstanding warrants and other legal issues at Begin Again, sponsored by the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office.

During three sessions of Begin Again last year, nearly 2,400 New Yorkers were helped and more than 1,600 outstanding summons were cleared. The participants received consultation with Legal Aid attorneys on how to resolve their warrants. These open warrants weigh down an overburdened courts system and can hold back individuals who have them on their records.
