Bill Nelson Named New Director of Low Income Taxpayer Clinic Program Office

William Nelson, Director of the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic in the Civil Practice's Harlem Community Law Office, has been named the new director of the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic Program in the IRS's Taxpayer Advocate Service. Bill has served in the Society's Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic for 15 years.

As the head of the clinic, Bill has represented low income taxpayers before the IRS and in U.S. Tax Court and has supervised and mentored LITC staff and volunteer attorneys who provide pro bono representation on behalf of low income taxpayers. He is a graduate of NYU School of Law and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston College and a M.S. in Taxation from Bentley College.
