Assistance to Avoid Foreclosures Announced by Mayor Bloomberg During Press Conference at Legal Aid's Queens Neighborhood Office

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg yesterday announced a new public campaign to assist New Yorkers in avoiding foreclosure of their homes during a press conference at the Queens offices of The Legal Aid Society at 120-46 Queens Blvd., in Kew Gardens. The Legal Aid Society's Queens Neighborhood Office is part of the program to assist New Yorkers in danger of losing their homes.

Mayor Bloomberg was joined by Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter; City Council Member Thomas White, Jr.; and Department of Housing Preservation and Development Commissioner Rafael E. Cestero. Steven Banks, Attorney-in-Chief of The Legal Aid Society, Adriene Holder, Attorney-in-Charge of the Civil Practice; and April Newbauer, Attorney-in-Charge of the Queens Neighorhood Office, participated in the press conference.
