10th Anniversary Celebration of Kathryn A. McDonald Education Advocacy Project on April 6
THURSDAY, MARCH 31, 2011

The Legal Aid Society will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Kathryn A. McDonald Education Advocacy Project with a benefit event which includes a cocktail party and silent auction on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at The Dillon Gallery, 555 W. 25th Street (between 10th and 11th Avenues). Arthur Abbey, of Abbey Spanier Rodd & Abrams, LLP; Ann McDonald, of Robinson & McDonald and a member of the EAP Advisory Board; and Katherine Locker, founder of the Kathryn A. McDonald Education Advocacy Project and a member of the EAP Advisory Board, will be honored at the event.

The Kathryn A. McDonald Education Advocacy Project provides early intervention and special education advocacy for children in New York City's child welfare system. An overwhelming number of children in foster care suffer from some type of developmental delay or disability. Without an advocate, their needs often go unmet. Since 2001, EAP has provided direct advocacy services to more than 2,300 abused and neglected children. EAP has also trained thousands of parents, foster parents and child welfare professionals and has engaged in systemic reform to protect and define the special education rights of children in foster care. EAP relies on the generous support of foundations and individual donors to continue its work. For more information, please contact Cara Chambers, Director of EAP, at cachambers@legal-aid.org.
