Law Reform

We represent clients in class-action litigation, and legislative and administrative advocacy,  and provide public education and training in the pursuit of justice for large numbers of our clients. We believe in comprehensive legal representation, complementing our assistance to clients in individual cases with broader efforts on their behalf in class-action litigation; before legislators, agencies, and public officials; and in the media.

• Civil Law Reform Unit
  The Civil Law Reform Unit seeks to secure and advance the rights of large numbers of low-income clients in the areas of homeless rights, housing, public benefits, immigrant rights and disability rights through a combination of class action litigation, legislative and administrative advocacy, public education, and training. • Juvenile Rights Special Litigation Unit
  The Juvenile Rights Special Litigation & Law Reform Unit provides legal representation and advocacy on behalf of children involved in foster care, persons in need of supervision, and juvenile delinquency cases.
• Criminal Defense Special Litigation Unit
  The Criminal Defense Special Litigation Unit provides legal representation and advocacy in the areas of criminal defense, sentencing, sex offender registration, forfeiture of property following an arrest and sealing of arrest records.
• Prisoners' Rights Project
  The Prisoners' Rights Project defends the legal rights of State and City prisoners through litigation, administrative and legislative advocacy on behalf of clients, and public education.
