The Legal Aid Society's Annual Awards Dinner - Previous Honorees

The Legal Aid Society's Servant of Justice Award, established in 1977, has recognized 42 individuals -- for outstanding corporate citizenship, devotion to the New York community, and dedication to the mission of The Legal Aid Society and its quest for equal access to justice.  The Theodore Roosevelt Award, which was established in 2009, has honored three individuals for their outstanding citizenship and humanitarianism.

2011

  • Barbara L. Cohen - Member of The Legal Aid Society’s Advisory Board, and a former Chair of The Legal Aid Society’s Civil Support Division.
  • H. Rodgin Cohen - Senior Chairman of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.
  • Theodore Roosevelt Award - Harvey R. Blau, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Griffon Corporation & Arlene Blau, Board Member of Old Westbury Gardens, and a former Director of the American Ballet Theater.
