Resolving Problems or Disagreements

Each borough has one or more Liaisons for Students in Temporary Housing. The Liaisons should be able to answer questions and resolve any problems that may arise. Their names and contact information are listed below.

If there is a dispute over school selection or enrollment that the Liaison is unable to resolve, the child must be immediately admitted to the school in which he/she is seeking enrollment and be provided with transportation, pending resolution of the dispute. The parent must be provided a written explanation of the school’s decision regarding enrollment, and the parent has a right to appeal that decision.
