The HIV/AIDS Representation Project was created in 1989 in partnership with the Montefiore Medical Center. Today, the Project continues to serve clients at off-site locations such as medical care facilities and correctional facilities.

Case Example

Mr. A, diagnosed with AIDS, was trying to handle his nonpayment proceeding pending in Bronx Housing Court. When this stress caused his viral load to increase, Mr. A was referred to the Society for assistance. In addition to negotiating a settlement with his landlord and obtaining more time for him to pay his arrears, H/ARP staff also connected Mr. A with a local case management organization, thereby saving him from making regular and exhausting trips from the Bronx to Brooklyn.
