Major Purpose of Position

The Finance Department has an immediate opening for a Payroll Manager to process the bi-weekly payroll for all of the Legal Aid Society’s employees This position requires a great attention to detail, a strong ability to multi-task and work independently, and the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Process the bi-weekly payroll for all Legal Aid employees
  • Update and maintain the ADP system for payroll changes
  • Post the payroll monthly to the general ledger
  • Reconcile monthly to the general ledger to verify accuracy
  • Supervise the assistant payroll manager
  • Maintain ancillary data within ADP, e.g. vacation days
  • Maintain the split funding report
  • Prepare reports in ADP as needed
  • Ability to perform special projects as requested by Senior Management.

Training And Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of Excel
  • BS in Accounting preferred
  • Minimum of (2) years work experience in processing payroll
  • Experience with ADP Enterprise HR v4.0 preferred
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Sense of professionalism, confidentiality, and a strong work ethic are a must
